Areas of Interest:

Museum Ambassador: (Special Services and Administration) Volunteers greet visitors to the Met and take admissions. They provide information about the Met and its exhibits. Volunteers serve at least once a week for four hours. Bilingual volunteers are greatly needed. (Please note any other languages in the Special Skills section below.) Volunteers are asked to donate a minimum of two four-hour shifts a month.

Docent: Docents conduct museum tours for adults and children. They receive special education and on the exhibits. Some docents serve in Outreach programs to the community. Volunteers in this area are comfortable talking to people. We have need for docents with bilingual skills. (Please note any other languages in the Special Skills section below.)

Museum Store: Volunteers provide friendly, efficient customer service in the store. Primary responsibilities include cashiering, tagging merchandise, and gift-wrapping. Training is provided. Volunteers are asked to donate a minimum of two four-hour shifts a month.

Special Events: Volunteers assist with member receptions, exhibit openings and fundraisers. Evening hours preferred.

Office/Clerical: Volunteers assist with telephone reception and data entry. Excellent phone skills are a must as well as proficiency in English written and spoken. Computer experience preferred.

Office/Mailing: Volunteers assist with large mailings. Morning hours preferred.
