Visit the Museum
The Met has begun its long-awaited renovation project, and is scheduled to reopen in November 2008. During this time the Museum's programming will take place offsite. Visit the Museum's Renovation Station to view the progress on the project.

Wednesday - Sunday - 11am to 5pm
Open until 8pm during ArtHop
Closed Monday and Tuesday
ArtHop offers free admission on the first Thursday evening of the month from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.
The Met is closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day

Free Admission is offered on the first Thursday of the month (ArtHop) from 5 pm to 8 pm courtesy of the Met's Business and Professional Partners.

Visitors with Disabilities
Wheelchairs
The museum is wheelchair accessible. A limited number of wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and provided free of charge for use within the museum galleries. Please ask at the admission desk for assistance. We regret that wheelchairs may not be reserved in advance.
Audio Tour/Transcripts
On select exhibitions, audio tours may be available. For transcripts of available audio tours, please make your request at the Admissions Desk.
Vision Impaired Visitors
Visitors who require assistance in reading wall text and/or object labels may bring a companion at no extra charge.
Other Assistance
Dogs that are specially trained to assist disabled persons are allowed into the Museum.
