Fresno Grizzlies vs. Omaha Royals

The Fresno Grizzlies and the Fresno Metropolitan Museum are celebrating our new partnership and we invite you to join us. This celebration will be held on Friday, May 1st at the Grizzlies game at Chukchansi Park. The Grizzlies are treating the museum staff to a night at the game and they would like all of you to join us. Click on the weblink below to get information on how to earn two free tickets for this great event.

What is the celebration all about? The Fresno Grizzlies have agreed to donate up to $500 on your behalf to the Museum for each new 600 Club season ticket that is purchased for the 2008 season. The 600 Club is an exclusive section at Chukchansi Park that offers the best way to enjoy a Grizzlies game. It features a full-service bar and restaurant, spacious seats, in-seat service and many large flat-screen televisions. EGYPTOLOGIST TO SPEAK AT FRESNO LECTURE SERIES

Who killed King Tut? What was hidden in the pyramids? Professor Bob Brier, known as “Mr. Mummy,” will explore questions surrounding the death in 1336 B.C. of Tutankhamen, the boy king, in his lecture, “The Murder of Tutankhamen,” at Fresno’s Saroyan Theatre on Wednesday, February 20 at 10:30 a.m. His presentation is the fourth of six lectures offered by the San Joaquin Valley Town Hall Lecture Series during it 2007-2008 season.

Tickets and information are available by contacting 444-2180, at www.valleytownhall.com, or contacting the box office at the theatre on the day of the lecture.

An expert on ancient Egypt and regarded by many as the world’s leading authority on mummies, Prof. Brier has pioneered research in his field. He has investigated well-known mummies including pharaohs, Lenin, Evita and the Medici family. Brier and a colleague became the first persons in 2,000 years to mummify a human cadaver with ancient techniques. He has directed research in pyramids and tombs in 15 countries and earned the nickname, “Mr. Mummy.”
