Fresno Metropolitan Museum Third Annual Mini-Grants for Innovative Science Education

The Fresno Metropolitan Museum, in partnership with the Reveas Foundation and Fresno County Office of Education, is pleased to announce a competitive mini-grant program in science. Grant awards will range from $500 - $1,000 and all teachers in Fresno County are eligible to apply. (Actual grant awards will be determined by the number of applications received and the amount requested. It is expected that 15-20 grants will be awarded at the start of the 2008-09 school year).

Grant funds shall be used to implement quality, innovative hands-on science instruction in the applicant’s classroom and/or their school. The funds may be used to purchase equipment and materials and/or enhance current science curriculum/programs. Creativity and originality in the implementation of how grant funds will be used to further science education are highly encouraged. Applications can be obtained via download at the bottom of this page or at the FCOE website.

The three award categories are as follows:
• Elementary K – 6th grade
• Middle School 7th – 8th grade
• High School 9th – 12th

In order to be considered, applications must be postmarked for delivery on or before the application deadline of May 31, 2008. Applicants are responsible for determining the most appropriate method of delivery. Faxed, hand-delivered, or emailed applications will not be accepted.
